About Macscape Photography

Macscape Photography is Sean McAleenan, a Rostrevor based photographer. Although specialising in landscape photography, Sean has worked in portraiture from people to animals to still lifes. He assisted teaching lighing set ups in Belfast Exposed Photography, a community photography initiative and gallery in the city centre. He has worked along with professional photographer John Lynch (www.apersure.co.uk) on photo shoots as well as in his Lisburn studio.

He has also undertaken his own jobs using natural light and his portable indoor studio. However, his love for the outdoors has made landscape photography his first passion. It has given him a real appreciation for the things we normally take for granted. From Ireland to Scotland, have a look at the world through Sean’s eyes and hopefully it conjurs up emotional views that everyone can appreciate. Sean is a stickler for detail and thinks that if it’s worth doing it’s worth doing right. Therefore, he only uses the best printing facilities he can. His prints are printed with Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss 2 long lasting pigment inks on Satin Semi-Gloss paper and the canvases are printed on a 12 colour Canon Imageprograf 9000, a 12 colour large format pigment ink printer. The colour in the ink has a life expectancy of 120 years so one of his canvases could be handed down from generation to generation!

He has opted for a minimalist approach to the framing but keeping it to an extremely high standard. The framed prints use a unobtrusive black design that will fit in with any decor or stand out on their own. Alternatively prints can be obtained mounted only. The canvases are stretched using proper bevelled stretcing bars, mirrored by 50mm on each side to give a unique 3D effect. They can be then framed a multitude of different ways to enclose the stretched canvas. All the framing is finished to a very professional standard.

Commissions are welcome, have your house, pet or even yourself photographed. This can be done at your house for your convenience. Studio work is also available although this is in Lisburn.
